Sugar Cookie Cutouts

This is a basic rolled cookie recipe.  They are even better with icing and sprinkles.  My husband likes them best frozen, because as a child he used to steal sugar cookies from the freezer.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts

1/3 c butter

1/3 c shortening

3/4 c sugar

1 tsp baking powder

dash salt

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

2 c flour

Blend butter, shortening and sugar well.  Add ingredients in the order given.  Chill for 3 hours, or until easy to handle.

Bake 375  7 - 8 min.

Makes 3 -4  dozen.
